Maddocks Gardens

Maddocks Gardens is a 90 bed Aged Care Facility, within BRHS. Maddocks Gardens promotes an Eden approach to care by including children, pets, technology and the outdoors into everyday life within the facility.

Maddocks Gardens consists of 3 distinct care units: Sutherland Lodge, Banksia and Bluegum, which specialize in providing care to residents with different levels of need.
 
Sutherland Lodge
 
Sutherland Lodge is a 32 bed, dementia specific hostel with 31 permanent and 1 respite bed, and caters for elderly people with special care needs related to memory loss and dementia. Residents have their own rooms with ensuite facilities and interior character is designed to resemble a home like environment. The facility has a secured yard for the residents' enjoyment. An activities program is provided to encourage and promote positive lifestyle and independence. Trained Personal Care staff provide individualized care 24 hours a day.
 
Banksia
 
Banksia has 28 hostel beds: 27 permanent and 1 respite. Personal Care staff in Banksia provide care for predominantly low care residents. Residents have their own rooms with ensuite facilities, and a lovely display cabinet outside the door where special mementoes can be safely displayed. Residents are encouraged to remain as independent as possible and continue to maintain their lifestyle and social choices.
 
Bluegum
 
Bluegum has 30 mixed care beds: 13 hostel beds, 16 nursing home and 1 respite nursing home bed. This unit has care staff with a mixed skill base, comprising of Registered Nurses and Personal Care staff. Most rooms are single rooms with own ensuites, and there are some shared rooms available for nursing home residents.
 
Banksia and Bluegum share a team of dedicated Diversional Therapist and Activity staff, who provide a variety of interesting activities for the residents. Both units cater for a home like environment for the residents. Residing residents and their family members are encouraged to attend the monthly resident meetings.
 
Maddocks Gardens offers aging within the facility on an assessed and appropriate basis.

Admission to Maddocks Gardens for residential care or respite care is subject to an assessment by the Aged Care Assessment Team and a completed Aged Care Client Record, prior to admission.
