Children - Information for Parents

The Paediatric area is combined with selected non-acute medical patients. We encourage the participation and support you can offer in the care of your child.

On admission and at any stage of your child's stay, it is important to discuss with the nurse-in-charge what level of involvement you are able to make so that together we can ensure the most appropriate care and support is given.

Children who are admitted can bring their own toiletries, clothes and any favourite toy or comforter.

Visiting hours for parents are unrestricted. Other visitors are welcome between 9am-8pm except during rest period, which is between 12.30pm-2pm.

One parent is welcome to stay overnight. Fold up beds or recliner chairs are available to sleep near your child. A shower is available for parent use. Please ask staff if this is required.

Patient Enquiries

All patient enquiries are directed to the ward Nurse Unit Manager via reception (03) 5150 3333.

The hospital reception is attended seven days per week between the hours of 7.30am and 9.30pm, telephone 5150 3333.
