BRHS Board welcomes new CEO

Bairnsdale Regional Health Service Board is delighted to welcome Robyn Hayles as the new Chief Executive Officer.

Robyn has embarked on a location change moving to the area having previously worked in Geelong at Barwon Health as Chief Operating Officer. She brings extensive experience in public health management, inclusive of a Master of Public Health degree and has strong governance experience having sat on boards of a primary care super-clinic and a not-for-profit organisation aimed at overcoming community disadvantage.

Following her time providing direct nursing care Robyn has had over 13 years of experience in senior health management roles including management roles at the Royal Children’s Hospital, time employed as a Strategic Planner and Executive Director roles at Barwon Health.

Robyn brings a passion and expertise for creating person centred patient care. She has led innovative projects involving both the creation of new services and usage of assistive technology to support individual healthcare.

Robyn appreciates and enjoys the vital role the health service plays in our community, working with other agencies to encourage and support community members to be healthy, treating disease and injury and providing employment for many community members.

Robyn also loves to inspire and create an environment in which high functioning teams can support each other to provide a great service. She enjoys the challenge of systems thinking and looks forward to working with key partners in the region and the Department of Health and Human Services to ensure systems and services support the health and wellbeing of the East Gippsland Community.

In her spare time Robyn enjoys outdoor activities such as cycling and walking, and as a resident of East Gippsland, is particularly looking forward to exploring the region.

In welcoming Robyn to the role of CEO at BRHS, Board Chair Angela Hutson said “BRHS is in a growth phase and having just recently launched our strategy for 2020, we are thrilled to have Robyn to come and lead the team at BRHS and use her extensive experience to further ensure that we deliver great patient care to our community”.
