Hump Day? Forget about it.

The “PHEW Crew” (otherwise known as the Positive Health and Employee Wellbeing Committee) at BRHS is remodelling the midweek with the launch this month of Wednesday Walkies.

What is Wednesday Walkies, you might ask? Fair question.

Wednesday Walkies is a regular stroll each Wednesday led by BRHS staff, for BRHS staff, and anyone else that wants to join!

Some weeks there might be 20 people and other weeks there might be 2. And that’s okay.

All you need to remember is that every Wednesday at 1 p.m. a group of BRHS staff led by a PHEW member will leave the flagpole out the front of the hospital.

The 1.2km walk goes around the hospital grounds and takes about 11 minutes.

If you feel like a little light exercise, we’re hoping you will join us!

WHEN: Every Wednesday (weather permitting) from 1 p.m – 1:15 p.m.

WHERE: Meet at the flagpole at the front of the hospital.

For more information about Wednesday Walkies, or anything else the PHEW Crew is up to, just show up one Wednesday at 1, or email phew@brhs.com.au. Or visit the PHEW page on the BRHS Intranet, under the Safety and Wellbeing tab.

There’s nothing like a gentle stroll to relax your mind and iron out the kinks.

Taking a few moments to go for a quick walk, breathe some fresh air and stretch your limbs is not only good for your body – it’s also great for your mind and has been shown to boost creativity and productivity.

There are some handy walking paths right here at the hospital.

The BRHS PHEW (Positive Health and Employee Wellbeing) Committee has put together this map to help you find the path that’s right for you.
