“The support the Lions Club continues to provide the hospital is remarkable,” our Acting CEO Bernadette Hammond told Paynesville Lions Club members on Wednesday morning.

We had gathered at the hospital to accept yet another donation from this extraordinarily charitable group that has contributed about $30,000 to the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service for the purchase of patient medical equipment over the last two years.

This latest donation of $14,420, raised by selling many, many raffle tickets in the Paynesville and Bairnsdale area leading up to Christmas, helped purchase a patient care monitor for use in recording patient information. Other items purchased thanks to donations from the Lions Club, and already in use, are a second patient care monitor and a Turp resectoscope working element which is used in theatre.

“We all see how hard you guys work, and that hard work helps the hospital, and the community, enormously,” Bernadette said.
