Are You a Carer? New Carer Support Group Offers a Helping Hand

The act of caring for someone with health issues or a disability is a powerful, passionate and deeply human thing to do.

More than 700,000 Victorians provide unpaid care to a family member or friend. And we believe those carers deserve all the support they can get.

That’s why we’re starting a Carer Support Group here at the hospital, to provide a welcoming, safe space for carers to come and discuss any issues that are bothering them, to seek information from health professionals and other carers, or just to meet and talk with other people in the local community facing similar challenges.

Every caring situation can be different. And if you’ve just started caring for somebody it can feel overwhelming.

We want you to know we’re here for you.

The new Carer Support Group will be a regular gathering of other carers and health professionals that can help you.

It is free and open to anyone.
