BY DIRECTOR OF PEOPLE & CULTURE, BERNADETTE BROWN
It’s been a few days since we launched the Healthy Choices Project in the staff dining room, and I, for one, have been loving the new menu options.
It’s been a big week for Cam Penwill and the kitchen staff, and so I wanted to take a moment to thank them and all the staff that were involved in developing and launching the Healthy Choices Project, the goal of which is to encourage and promote healthy eating here at BRHS.
It was a team effort. A number of people worked very hard to make these welcome improvements, and there was a lot of work done behind the scenes.
The Healthy Choices Project we rolled out this week actually began some months ago as an idea of the PHEW (Positive Health and Employee Wellbeing) Committee, which is made up of BRHS employees that are keen to make positive changes to our workplace in support of staff health and wellbeing.
From there, other project champions pushed the idea along, including BRHS Dieticians, Nurse Educators, People and Culture and Community Health staff.
And this week, it all came to fruition.
As well as being testimony to the hard work and flexibility of the kitchen crew, these great new healthy options in the dining room are also an example of the very real and positive impact the PHEW Committee can have.
It’s a good group of people doing important work.
If you’d like to get involved, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or take a look at the “Positive Health and Employee Wellbeing” page on the BRHS Intranet, under Safety and Wellbeing.
