Heather Rose and June Jackson are two of our lovely volunteers with BRHS’ Bower Birds Auxiliary.

The Bower Birds is a dedicated team of volunteers whose fundraising efforts assist in the purchase of hospital equipment for patient care and comfort.

They were selling raffle tickets at the hospital yesterday. As always, all the money the Auxiliary raises goes to funding important equipment and supplies for the hospital.

If you’ve got a passion for your community, love to meet people, and are ready for a new experience, think about volunteering at BRHS.

Tickets are only $2. First prize is $750 worth of fuel, and second prize is $250 worth of fuel, courtesy of the Bairnsdale Rotary Club.

The raffle will be drawn April 7, and winners will be notified by phone.

More than 250 locals currently give their time and talents as volunteers at BRHS, undertaking all sorts of tasks, including providing transportation services and helping patients and visitors get around the hospital, raising funds for vital equipment, and helping our facilities team.

They keep patients’ flowers fresh on the wards, man the kiosk, assist with administrative tasks and providing a helping hand when it is most needed.

If you’ve got a passion for your community, love to meet people, and are ready for a new experience, think about volunteering at BRHS.

There is a range of volunteer roles available, depending on your skills and interests.

For more information about volunteering, (or if you’d like to buy a raffle ticket!) contact our Volunteers Coordinator Mel Fenby at volunteers@brhs.com.au, or 5150 3346.
