Valued for His Experience and Wonderful Humour – Gordon Arthur Retires

BRHS General Surgeon Servaise de Kock farewells colleague Gordon Arthur.

It was with great sadness but many well-wishes that BRHS staff last month farewelled into retirement Dr. Gordon Arthur.

Dr. Arthur, a General Surgeon from Traralgon, had been a locum at BRHS for the past 8 years. During that time he was much appreciated by all the medical and nursing staff, for both his wealth of experience but also excellent good humour.

“He was a great support to many,” said Surgical Services Manager Jennifer Bugbird. “Gordon will be missed.”

She said Dr. Arthur was well known for what colleagues term ‘Gordonisms’, and for his sense of humour.

“These have endeared him to the entire perioperative team, nurses, anaesthetists and surgeons alike, and I am sure there are many others in the organisation who would say the same.”

Farewell, Dr. Arthur, and all the very best in your retirement.
